![]() Geometrically, the focal point of the suburb is a park called the central square, with churches on two sides and a school on the third. Shops were planned here but never built, so the square never became a social center in fact. When Pevsner refers to one, he may have in mind the shopping center at the development's western edge. Both the churches were fortunate in having a distinguished archtiect, however, no less than Lutyens. This is this Free Church, begun in 1911.
