Notes on the Geography of Malaysia: Oil Palm and Rubber
Plantation photos, mostly, taken near Kuala Selangor, 30 miles northwest of Kuala Lumpur.
Despite the sunlight flooding the road, the atmosphere inside an oil-palm plantation is dark and brooding.
The land is low-lying and drained tract by linear tract.
The fruit itself is colorful.
Harvested fruit along a plantation road.
Spindly looking, but rubber has been an economic giant in Southeast Asia, particularly British Malaya. The diagonal scarring is a sign of previous tappings.
