Behind the Divan Salonu, the towers of the harem. The term is Arabic for "forbidden." As used in this case, it is equivalent to Seraglio, an Italian word formerly applied by Europeans to the whole of Topkapi. Of course, the harem (or seraglio) was only a part of Topkapi. The word "seraglio," ironically, comes from the Persian saray, meaning palace. Got it?
