The city's first skyscraper, the 1910 Colcord Building, built by and named for a former Oklahoma City police chief who was also a sheriff and--more fortunately for him--the co-discoverer of the prolific Glenn Pool, near Tulsa. In the 1920s this building had A-list tenants like the New York Central, the Illinois Central, and Western Union.
