Introduction to United Arab Emirates
With about a million people, Dubai is the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates. Add in the half million of adjoining Sharjah and the 200,000 in adjoining Ajman, and you have more than have of all the people living in the U.A.E. Of Dubai's million, though, less than 18% have U.A.E. citizenship. Another 20% are Arabs drawn by the lure of jobs. Sixty percent are Asians--mostly South Asians--similarly drawn by money. These are the folks doing the work.
