These pictures were taken on several different occasions between 1995 and 1998. They are all taken, in other words, during the Oslo window, when it was possible to drive a car rented in Israel (and with Israeli license plates) from one end of the West Bank to the other without meeting trouble or even hostility. How distant that time seems.
