The Henry Cole Wing, completed in 1871, was the former School for Naval Architects. The projecting balcony or loggia was intended to let those students get some fresh air. Below: more terracotta columns. Nearer the camera: a screen by Aston Webb, designed to block a view of boilers and left pockmarked as a reminder of wartime bomb damage.
